The idea for this WebQuest stemmed from a 9th grade characterization unit, but was modified to make the project harder and can be used for students 9th grade and higher. Most the elements are things students should already know, but may need to be reiterated before graduation.
Students will be able to write a narrative which develops real or imaginary events using precise technique. The narratives engage the reader/audience, contain all the story elements, uses a variety of literary techniques to convey thought, character image, and other aspects. Students will also be able to use detail to create vivid imagery and provide a logical conclusion to the story
Writing Standard 4
Students will be able to produce clear, developed writing which is organized to be specifically for an audience and provides a purpose while staying on the task given.
Writing Standard 5
Students will be familiar with the revision process in order to create a clear and concise product
Writing Standard 6
The use of technology to publish, produce, and update the product is apparent and students are familiar with the capacities of the Internet
Speaking and Listening Standards 4-6
Students are clear and concise when speaking and presenting findings while making the most out of the digital and multimedia resources available
